St Petersburg Russia - Part 4

This monument celebrates Peter the Great's victories including when he led his troops to destroy the Swedish army in 1709. This statue of Peter I was removed from its marble pedestal at the start of WWII and hidden away for over 2 years during the German siege. The monument was restored in 1945.
